Project Homeless Connect
The New Project Homeless Connect: At a Glance
Mission Statement:
San Jose’s Project Homeless Connect aims to serve Silicon Valley residents who are homeless, or are at risk of becoming homeless, by providing frequent population- specific events at the One-Stop Homeless Prevention Centers, as well as other venues throughout Santa Clara County.
PHC at a glance:
Project Homeless Connect (PHC) is a coordinated effort to provide health and human services to those who are homeless and at-risk of becoming homeless in Santa Clara County. Community volunteers partner with local non-profit service providers, local businesses, corporations, and government, to connect the homeless with medical, mental health, dental services, housing referrals and placement, SSI benefits, employment resources and placement, legal counseling, California ID, food, and much more.
The evolution towards better service:
With the development of the One-Stop Homeless Prevention Centers at InnVision’s Georgia Travis Center and EHC LifeBuilders’ Boccardo Regional Reception Center, Project Homeless Connect has evolved from large semi-annual events to frequent population-specific events. These new, smaller Project Homeless Connect events aim to serve specific communities, while general resources are provided on a daily basis at One-Stop locations. By approaching our PHC events in a more focused manner, we hope to see more people connect to services and housing, and therefore stepping out of homelessness.
If your organization or communit is interested in bringing a Project Homeless Connect event to your area, or donating items for an event please contact Katherine Naszradi at katherine.naszradi@sanjoseca.gov or by phone at (408) 975-4486.
