Policies

One of the outcomes of the 1988 Mayor’s Task Force on Housing was to develop specific policies to govern the distribution of affordable housing resources. These policies, which were updated in the 1995-2000 Five-Year Housing Investment Plan and subsequent plans, help guide the City in ensuring that affordable housing resources are distributed equitably and serve those most in need. In addition, these policies also address special circumstances or conditions that require unique responses or special attention, such as housing for the disabled, seniors and the homeless.
