The City of San José Housing Department offers various amounts of downpayment assistance in select new construction developments. The City assistance is offered to qualified low- and moderate-income homebuyers as a fully deferred, 0% interest loan, due and payable in 30 years. At the time of resale, an assisted homebuyer has two options:
The City’s equity-share homebuyer loan program is open to qualified homebuyers and may be combined with the Teacher Homebuyer Program and the SJSU-Faculty Homebuyer Program.
