Using a combination of tax-exempt bonds and Low-Income Housing Tax-Credits, this preservation occurred without a direct infusion of City funds. Renewing the affordability restrictions on 231 units of one- and two-bedroom housing, the rehabilitation of these 16 two-story apartment buildings allowed the current residents to continue living at Lion Villas uninterrupted, ensuring the continuity and strength of the neighborhood.
